Petra Matar
My name is Petra and I love to sketch.
I am Lebanese, born in Nigeria, and I lived most of my life in the U.A.E.
I picked up drawing when I was a year old, and I just never stopped.
Art and design are great passions of mine, and I am currently studying architecture, which in many ways opened up my mind and changed the way I looked at and made things.
Anything I do tends to be another experiment rather than a finished piece of work, which is why I never religiously followed any art movement despite my appreciation of many.
I am fascinated by beauty, and I like to study it in everything, especially in human form, and more recently in geometrical and spacial form. And I realized I might have a skewed idea of what beauty is. Nevertheless I just want to make "pretty" things.
