Akinori Oishi

Born in Japan 1972. He studied fine arts at Kyoto City University of Art, and developed his graphic-art by learning the multi-media at IAMAS (International Academy of Media Arts and Sciences / Japan). After winning the award of MILIA (International Multi-media Fair in France) 2001, he worked at the French creative design studio TEAMCHMAN (2001 - 2003). Besides being an independent artist, he has also taught at Tama Art University in Tokyo, and appeared as a guest lecturer at ECAL (Ecole Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne / University of Art and Design Lausanne) in Switzerland.

Main activities -

The interactive graphic-art game "OPNIYAMA" is premiered at the grand opening exhibition of the contemporary art museum in Paris, Palais de Tokyo (2001). The animation is published for the Swiss documentary film "Mais im Bundeshuus" DVD (2005). It has big sales of the publishing picture book "Don't Sweat the Small Staff" (2005) in Japan. The design of the mascot character is selected for the biggest city public art festival in Taiwan "Very Fun Park" (2007). And he's invited as the guest speaker at the international character art and design festival "Pictoplasma Conference" in New York (2008) and in Berlin (2009).
