How does one describe Azim Al Ghussein? The answer is simple; one can't! Azim is an enigma. Not really sane, not really insane, this confused and confusing individual has decided to apply himself into the wonderful world of visual communication. Although he mainly studies Graphic Design at the American University in Dubai, he secretly moonlights as an illustrator and sometimes, when he is feeling very eccentric, an artist. Despite the many times Azim has asked, his parents have told him that they are in fact human, specifically, Palestinians, so he will go with that for now. Azim enjoys illustration a whole lot, and he has been drawing since before he could walk, and no, that doesn't mean he learned to walk later in life, he just learned to draw early. He usually enjoys drawing human figures with exaggerated proportions and mermaids ... lots of mermaids. Azim prefers to deal with manual work as opposed to using a computer, explaining his affinity for traditional forms of art such as drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Azim loves cartoons and comic books, which he believes are the source of his awesome power! Azim is a strong believer in overindulgence and exaggeration and loves to express that through his work.
